Curated, not stocked.
Sleep quality is the variable most people underinvest in, yet it underpins recovery, cognition, and hormonal health more than almost any supplement. The Pod 5 earns its place here because it addresses two of the most evidence-backed levers for better sleep — thermal regulation and consistent wake timing — while generating the kind of longitudinal data that lets a clinician or a motivated individual make genuinely informed decisions, not guesses.
About this product
Eight Sleep Pod 5 Core (UK Double)
The Eight Sleep Pod 5 Core is a smart mattress cover that actively heats and cools each side of the bed independently using a water-based Active Grid system. It fits over your existing mattress — no new base or frame required — and connects to a bedside Hub unit that circulates temperature-controlled water through the cover throughout the night.
Built-in clinical-grade sensors track sleep stages, heart rate, and respiratory rate continuously. That data feeds into the Autopilot AI, which learns your thermal preferences over the first few nights and adjusts temperature automatically without any manual input. Because each side is controlled separately, two sleepers with different preferences can share the same bed without compromise.
The companion app (iOS and Android) surfaces your sleep metrics each morning, giving you a clear picture of sleep quality over time rather than a vague score. A smart vibration alarm wakes you during your lightest sleep phase, reducing that heavy, disoriented feeling after a jarring alarm. Guided meditations co-developed with Dr Andrew Huberman are also available in the app for wind-down.
This is a product for people who take sleep seriously — those who train hard, manage high stress loads, or have simply tried every other sleep intervention and want objective data. The cover is machine washable and fits any mattress between 10 and 16 inches thick. Autopilot membership, required for smart features, is included for the first year.

How to use
Lay the Pod cover over your existing mattress and secure it at the corners, then place the Hub bedside, fill the water reservoir as directed, and connect to power. Common questions
Frequently asked
Does it work with my existing mattress?
Yes. The Pod 5 Core is a cover that fits over any mattress between 10 and 16 inches thick — no new base, frame, or mattress is required.
Do both sides of the bed need to be used for it to work?
No. Each side operates independently, so a solo sleeper can use just one side. The other side simply remains inactive or can be set to a neutral temperature.
What does the Autopilot membership include, and what happens after the first year?
Autopilot enables the AI temperature adjustment, sleep tracking, and smart alarm features. The first year is included with the cover; check Eight Sleep's current terms for renewal pricing, as subscription costs are set by the brand and may change.
How accurate is the sleep tracking compared to a wearable?
The Pod uses contact-based sensors embedded in the cover to detect heart rate, respiratory rate, and movement. It is not a medical device, but clinical-grade sensor tracking of this type is generally considered comparable in accuracy to consumer wrist-worn trackers for sleep-stage estimation.
Is there any noise from the Hub unit overnight?
The Hub circulates water through the cover using a pump, which produces a low-level ambient sound. Most users habituate quickly, but if you are a particularly light sleeper, it is worth bearing in mind before purchasing.
